The 1st Mount TAI Forum of Ophthalmology Was Held Successfully

On December 2, 2017, the 1st Mount TAI Forum of Ophthalmology hosted by Shandong Eye Hospital and Corneal and External Eye Diseases were successfully held in the academic lecture hall on the 14th floor of Shandong Eye Hospital.

The meeting was hosted by Hua GAO, who is the deputy director of Shandong Eye Institute and the vice president of Shandong Eye Hospital. Prof. Weiyun SHI, the chairman of the conference, gave a welcome speech. Prof. Zhiqiang PAN, a vice leader of the Corneal Disease Group of Ophthalmological Society, Chinese Medical Association, addressed the conference. Prof. Jianjiang XU, Prof. Ying LI, Prof. Zhiqiang PAN, Prof. Yifei HUANG, Prof. Jing HONG, Prof. Zhichong WANG, Prof. Shaozhen ZHAO are the representatives of the Authorities Sharing Sub-forum; Prof. Hua GAO, Prof. Xiuming JIN, Prof. Guigang LI, Prof. Liqiang WANG, Prof. Ting WANG, Prof. Hong ZHANG, Prof. Lin MA, Prof. Quan LIU, Prof. Jianping JI, Prof. Yun FENG, Prof. Qingfeng LIANG, Prof. Jin YUAN, Associated Prof. Fuhua WANG, Associated Prof. Suxia LI and Associated Prof. Xiaolin QI are the representatives of Yong Talents Sub-forum; Prof. Shourong ZHU, Prof. Ying WEN, Prof. Kaijun LI, Prof. Li HUANG, Prof. Lei HU are the representatives of the Regional Backbone Sub-forum; Prof. Lijun ZHANG, Prof. Qin LONG, Prof. Haili LI, Prof. Xianli DU and Associated Prof. Mingna LIU gave wonderful lessons and lectures as representatives of the Academic Contending Sub-forum. The conference attracted more than 300 ophthalmologists, making it one of the few large ophthalmology forums in Shandong province.

The Mount TAI Forum of Ophthalmology is a new form for academic communication of ophthalmology. This conference covers four aspects: cornea and ocular surface, the standardized construction of eye bank, refractive surgery and contact lens. The forum was innovatively divided into Authorities Sharing Sub-forum, Yong Talents Sub-forum, Regional Backbone Sub-forum and the Academic Contending Sub-forum. We intend to gather the experts to share the essence of ophthalmology, invite the young physicians to show the new strength of the profession, find the regional strong points to gather strengths and explore different ideas to promote the academic prosperity. We aim to accelerate the development of the refractive surgery and standardized construction of eye bank.

On the conference, the ophthalmologists from all over the country seized the rare opportunity to learn from experts and actively raised questions to the experts. Experts answered questions carefully with patience.

As a new try in the form of academic conference of ophthalmology, the 1st Mount TAI Forum of Ophthalmology has showed strong vitality and vigor, so we believe that it will continue to make contributions to the academic development of ophthalmology.
